This is exactly right. Most of them had no clue. I had to tell them about the Serial # after reading your post. It took me 3 hours to get someone who knew. They sent an email to the responsible department. ...Such a crappy customer service department..good people ..poor infrastructure and policies.

I finally said "ENUFF! ALREADY!" I am now an AT&T customer.
When Time Warner sold me down the river to Comcast I figured (correctly) that there might be a problem getting my email straightened out. I set up a yahoo acct and told all on my list. After 3 weeks od calling and many unsuccessful tries to set up my comcast .net email I found out I couldn't use all numbers for my password. I was told only letters. I can't figure out why I wasn't told at the outset. I was supposed to get an email from them explaining the set up process... mine never came. While all this was going on my digital voice kept going out on me leaving me without a phone since we don't have cells. I called and threatened to cut them off so they "fixed" everything. After a few days I started having difficulty sending emails using my yahoo addy. It would happen at about 7 PM each evening. I was so frustrated I googled a question asking if THEY tampered with emaila that were not comcast.net. I was directed to a site devoted to griping about comcast. It seems they are able to close portals and prevent you from using other emails. That's when I quit. I would love to see them either bought out by civilized people or shut down completely.
